FCC To Lead Queen City’s Support Of The FIFA Women’s World Cup

CINCINNATI – FC Cincinnati will lead the Queen City’s support of the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup when the quadrennial tournament kicks off later this week.

With Cincinnati native Rose Lavelle starring in the midfield of the United States’ team – the defending World Cup champion – FCC have many activities planned to celebrate and amplify the region’s support for Team USA.

Official U.S. Watch Parties

FC Cincinnati will co-host the official FIFA Women’s World Cup watch parties in the Cincinnati area in partnership with both 3CDC and the Cincinnati chapter of the American Outlaws (AO), the official supporter’s group of U.S. Soccer.

For each of the United States’ three group-stage games and for every game in which U.S. advances in the tournament, official watch parties will be held at both Fountain Square in downtown Cincinnati with 3CDC and also at Molly Malone’s in Covington, Ky. – the official bar of the AO Cincinnati chapter.

Watch Party Schedule

  • Tuesday, June 11 vs. Thailand – 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Sunday, June 16 vs. Chile – 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Thursday, June 20 vs. Sweden – 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • All knockout-round games (if the U.S. advances)

Both locations will feature giveaways of Rose Lavelle’s official U.S. Soccer “WNT Everywhere” poster – which is a print of the permanent mural. The mural is located at 44 West Freedom Way in Cincinnati and was designed and painted by artist/muralist Jenny Roesel Ustick (Instagram: @j_r_ustick).

Fans at both locations can also enter to win items autographed by Lavelle, including her official posters and a soccer ball.

On Fountain Square, the games will be shown on the video board above the square while food-truck options and partner drink specials will be available to fans. Soccer activities – including the popular Striker Challenge – and Ginga inflatables will be set up for fans to enjoy during the game. FCC’s mascot – Gary the Lion – will also be on hand for each game.

At Molly Malone’s, the club’s beer partners will be on hand with drink specials and giveaways. Additionally, club president Jeff Berding will also appear and watch with fans for most games.

In addition to the official watch party locations at Fountain Square and Molly Malone’s, FC Cincinnati’s Pub Partners will also show all of the U.S. games. Locations include: Rhinehaus (Cincinnati), Bucketheads (Cincinnati), Second Place (Cincinnati), House of Orange (Covington, Ky.), Bean & Barley (Cincinnati), Longnecks Sports Grille (Wilder, Ky.) and The Draft Bar & Grille (Liberty Township, Ohio).
