CINCINNATI, OH --- FC Cincinnati forward Djiby picked up his fourth United Soccer League Team of the Week nod after posting a goal and an assist in the team’s 3-0 win against Harrisburg City Islanders last Sat. that bumped the team up to fifth in the Eastern Conference standings.

Djiby netted his 11th USL goal and trails current league leader Romario Williams, who has 14 for Charleston Battery by three goals. Reno 1868 FC’s Dane Kelly and Real Monarch SLC’s Chandler Hoffman are second and third with 13 and 12 goals, respectively.

Djiby capitalized on an errant pass from Harrisburg’s Mohammed Abass, who put the ball into space in the 32nd minute. Djiby sprinted to collect the ball, cut back to cross up his defender, and then buried a left-footed shot in the lower left corner to put FCC on the board.

He then assisted on Danni König’s goal in the 70th minute. After receiving a pass from Josu, Djiby, waited for König to tuck in behind the defense and establish himself onside before cleanly slotting a pass to the Danish striker, who streaked the ball from just inside the 18-yard box.

The assist was the first for Djiby, who tops the team with 23 points.

FCC continues USL play this Sat., July 29 against Rochester Rhinos at Nippert Stadium with the match to start at 7:00 p.m.
