CINCINNATI – FC Cincinnati have loaned forward Emery Welshman to Forge FC of the Canadian Premier League for the 2019 season. The Mississauga, Ontario, native made one preseason appearance for the Orange and Blue before suffering a hamstring injury, which forced him out of the lineup the rest of preseason.

Welshman made 26 USL regular-season appearances, including 14 starts, scored four goals and added four assists for FC Cincinnati in the USL last season. After the conclusion of the 2018 USL season, Welshman signed an MLS contract on Dec. 10, 2018.

Welshman’s loan also opens up an international roster spot on FCC’s MLS roster.

FC Cincinnati will travel to Atlanta on Sunday, March 10, to face Atlanta United FC at 5 p.m. in a game that will be televised nationally live on ESPN, streamed on WatchESPN and carried on the radio on WDJO. The Orange and Blue will make their home debut as an MLS team at Nippert Stadium on Sunday, March 17, when the team hosts MLS Cup finalist Portland Timbers at 5 p.m. Season tickets, mini plans and individual-game tickets are on sale at fccincinnati.com/tickets or by calling 513-977-5425 (KICK).
