FC Cincinnati goalkeeper Przemysław Tytoń has been named to Major League Soccer’s Team of the Week presented by Audi for Week 1, while midfielder Luciano Acosta was named to the seven-man bench. The two selections mark the first time FC Cincinnati players have been named to MLS’ weekly team for a performance in a season opener.

The Zamosc, Poland, native registered an MLS career-high 11 saves in FC Cincinnati’s 2-2 draw against Nashville SC. His 11 saves are the most recorded by an MLS goalkeeper since D.C. United’s Bill Hamid recorded 12 saves against Toronto FC on Oct. 19, 2019.

Tytoń is one of three players – along with defenders Joseph-Claude Gyau and Nick Hagglund – to earn a start in each of FC Cincinnati’s three MLS seasons. In total, the goalkeeper has made 28 starts, stopping 76 shots and earning eight shutouts in three seasons.

Acosta recorded the first goal of FC Cincinnati’s season just eight minutes into the club’s season opener. The midfielder created a team-high four chances and drew a team-high four fouls as FC Cincinnati earned their first point of the 2021 campaign.

FC Cincinnati return to the pitch on Saturday, April 24, when the team visits Yankee Stadium to face New York City FC. FCC will officially open their 2021 home slate on Sunday, May 16, when the team hosts Inter Miami CF in the inaugural match at West End Stadium in a nationally televised 4 p.m. game.
