CINvDC Lineup

Lineup Notes: D.C. United

FC Cincinnati have two changes to the starting XI ahead of Sunday night’s matchup against D.C. United at Nippert Stadium.

About the starters

Frankie Amaya and Joseph-Claude Gyau replace Allan Cruz and Yuya Kubo in the starting lineup.

Amaya and Gyau return to the starting lineup after the pair opened the previous match against Columbus on the bench. Amaya has started all but two matches entering tonight’s match, while Gyau has started 15 of the Orange and Blue’s 18 contests.

About the bench

Jimmy McLaughlin is in an MLS matchday squad for FC Cincinnati for the first time. His last appearance for the club was Oct. 27, 2018, in the USL Cup Playoffs. McLaughlin’s last MLS appearance was June 6, 2015, for the Philadelphia Union.

Two other players could make their 2020 FCC debuts against D.C United: Tommy McCabe and Hassan Ndam.

About the absentees

Allan Cruz, Mathieu Deplagne, Greg Garza, Yuya Kubo, Jürgen Locadia, Spencer Richey, Przemysław Tytoń and Maikel van der Werff are all recovering from injuries.

New signing Franko Kovačević will be added to the roster upon the receipt of his P1 Visa and completion of any mandatory quarantine period under local government and MLS health and safety protocol.
