FC Cincinnati’s eMLS player Fiddle won the FIFA 20 Summer Cup Series for North America on Sunday afternoon, becoming the third eMLS player to win an international title.

Fiddle took home $10,000 and the crown of North America Summer Cup Series Champion after beating MaXe vip, 5-3, in aggregate across two games. MaXe vip and Joksan, who Fiddle also beat, are both FIFA eClub World Cup champions.

The tournament consisted of a group stage in a double-elimination format. The top two teams from each group advanced to the playoffs. Fiddle reached the Grand Final undefeated, which meant MaXe vip would’ve needed to defeat Fiddle twice in order to be crowned champion.

On Friday, Fiddle started the Summer Cup Series with a 4-1 win on aggregate against GN10. After defeating Joksan, 5-4, on aggregate, Fiddle advanced to Championship Sunday. Fiddle advanced to the Grand Final with a 4-1 defeat against Tigre.

The event was one of the big end-of-year tournaments that EA Sports announced would replace the annual eWorld Cup. The competitive FIFA season runs through August.
