Lineup Notes: Portland Timbers

Lineup Notes

Head coach Jaap Stam made no changes to the FC Cincinnati starting XI ahead of Tuesday night’s match against the Portland Timbers in the MLS is Back Tournament Knockout Stage presented by Audi.

This is only the third time that FCC have used the same starters in multiple weeks since the club joined MLS. The last instance was Aug. 17, 2019, against New York City FC at Nippert Stadium.

About the matchday squad

Jurgen Locadia is available and could make his MLS is Back Tournament debut if Stam uses the forward as a substitute.

Locadia was unavailable for the four previous matches as he recovered from a quad injury and last played on March 7 at Atlanta United FC.

The Dutchman is the only change to the matchday roster.

Injury update

Jimmy McLaughlin (ankle), Spencer Richey (concussion) and Maikel van der Werff (groin) are all unavailable against Portland.

Other notes

As a reminder, knockout stage matches don’t count toward the regular season standings, but the three group stage games did.

Tuesday’s match is the first time FCC have played in a knockout match since last June against Saint Louis FC in the 2019 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
