FC Cincinnati fell to Liga MX’s Atlas FC, 2-1, Tuesday night in the club’s Leagues Cup 2026 Phase One finale. With the loss, the Orange and Blue fell to 2-1 (6 points) through Phase One.

Evander would open the scoring for the Orange and Blue in the 44th minute. The Brazilian dribbled past a sliding defender and sent a right-footed kick from outside the box into the back of the net. This marks Evander’s third Leagues Cup goal contribution in as many matches.

Atlas would score twice in five minutes in the 79th and 85th minutes from Florian Monzon and Jesús Serrato respectively, both scoring on second chance opportunities inside the goal box.

FC Cincinnati return to Major League Soccer play this Saturday, August 15 at Orlando City SC. Kickoff from Inter.co Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m. and the match airs globally on Apple TV and over the radio locally in English on iHeart Media ESPN 1530 and Spanish on La Mega 101.5 FM.

AS IT HAPPENED 
CIN: Evander, GOAL – 44’ (1-0) – Evander received from Bryan Ramirez outside the box on the left side, cutting inwards to pass an Atlas defender attempting to slide tackle, giving the Brazilian plenty of space to send the ball to the back of the net from outside the box with a right-footed shot.

ATS: Florián Monzón, GOAL – 79’ (1-1) – Florián Monzón found a scoring opportunity after capitalizing on a loose ball in the box to equalize for Atlas.
 
ATS: Jesús Serrato, GOAL – 85’ (1-2) – An Atlas attack created an opportunity for Ryan Mmaee to take a shot from just inside the box. The shot rebounded and was cleaned up by an attacking Jesús Serrato.

GAME NOTES 
- Atlas marked the ninth different Liga MX opponent FC Cincinnati have faced in club history. FCC have now faced half of the 18 current Liga MX clubs.
- Evander netted his 13th goal of 2026 in all competitions.
- With Evander’s goal, he has now recorded a goal contribution in 11 straight matches in all competitions.
- Bryan Ramirez notched his second Leagues Cup assist of this season’s competition.
- Kristian Fletcher made his first official appearance for FC Cincinnati.
