CINCINNATI – FC Cincinnati has developed a summer training program with 80 players participating from six local clubs.

"This program was created to give the organization the opportunity to work with local youth players in the Cincinnati area,” said Head Coach John Harkes. “Our staff was very impressed with the level of play and the approach from all of the players involved. We are very excited for the future of youth soccer in and around Cincinnati and we hope to grow this particular program in the future."

FCC’s coaching network, which includes over 50 college coaches, has identified players from local clubs including, Cincinnati United Premier, Kings Hammer Academy, Ohio Elite, Total Futbol Academy, Ohio Galaxies, and Alliance Cincinnati Elite to participate.

“We have excellent youth clubs in the tristate area,” said Jeff Berding, FCC President and General Manager. “In addition to the summer training program, FCC has hosted coaching clinics as well as established the Youth Soccer Giveback Program to support our thriving youth soccer community. We welcome the opportunity to partner with the youth clubs and will continue to look for new initiatives.”

Overseeing the summer program is Assistant Coach Nate Kish, who is also FCC’s lead scout and Manager of Youth Development. The invitees train at Nippert Stadium with coaching instruction provided by Harkes and assistant coaches, Ryan Martin and Jamie Starr. Throughout the remainder of the season, the participants will be able to continue to observe first-team training sessions and attend FCC matches.

FCC is 12-4-6 on the year with 42 points and third in the Eastern Conference. The club’s next match will be Wed., Aug. 24 against Rochester Rhinos at Nippert Stadium.
