CINCINNATI, OH – FC Cincinnati have reached an agreement for the free release of defender Garrett Halfhill, who has subsequently joined New York Cosmos B on a free transfer ahead of the 2018 National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) season.

“Garret is the consummate professional and is somebody who makes those around him better on a daily basis. He had an excellent pre-season for us, but now that we are season mode it is difficult to accommodate all players playing time,” said FCC Head Coach Alan Koch. “We look forward to monitoring his development and progress with the Cosmos over the next few months.”

The Virginia Beach, Virginia, native was a four-year letter winner at Xavier University prior to landing with the Orange & Blue on an amateur contract in May of 2017. He would later sign on for a full professional deal in August. In total, Halfhill made two appearances in USL play in 2017, as well as one in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

FC Cincinnati are next in action this coming Saturday, April 21, when they host Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC in a Nippert Stadium Orange Out that kicks off at 7pm. Tickets are still available online at www.fccincinnati.com/tickets or by dialing 513-977-KICK.
