FC Cincinnati’s Evander was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 19, the league announced Monday.
The Brazilian playmaker starred in his return from the 2026 MLS All-Star game, notching three assists and scoring a game-winning goal with a laser beam from over 37 yards out in FC Cincinnati’s 4-2 win over the San Jose Earthquakes Saturday night.
In the 33rd minute, Evander patiently attracted defenders and then laid a pass off to Bryan Ramirez, who scored his first goal for FC Cincinnati. In the second half, Evander stole the show as he slipped through Tom Barlow for his ninth goal across all competitions, and then he took matters into his own hands with a rocket that left San Jose goalkeeper Angus Gunn stunned.
He capped off the night by springing another counter attack when he found Tom Barlow, who centered a pass to Ayoub Jabbari to finish it off and make it 4-2.
Evander now has 11 goals and 11 assists on the season, which combined are the most in MLS. His 11 assists also lead the league.
He receives his sixth weekly honor of the season, the most on the team and the 16th total for FC Cincinnati this year.
