CINCINNATI – Following the club’s tremendously successful West End Stadium premium seating deposit campaign, FC Cincinnati have made a $62,000 donation to the United Way of Greater Cincinnati to assist with the organization’s COVID-19 relief efforts.

During the deposit campaign, the club committed to donate 25% of all deposits collected between May 12 and June 12 when the campaign closed. Deposits were collected on 2,460 accounts, resulting in a $61,500 donation – which the club rounded up to $62,000.

FC Cincinnati president Jeff Berding presented a check representing the club’s donation to United Way of Greater Cincinnati president and CEO Moira Weir on Monday at the team’s downtown corporate office.

The $62,000 donation marks the club’s largest monetary donation to a single entity in club history.

“We’re thrilled to make a donation like this to the United Way to help support their COVID-19 relief efforts,” Berding said. “Our club partnered with the United Way this offseason and we challenged our staff to support the impactful work the organization does in our community. Now, being able to make this new commitment supporting those most hurt by the pandemic – all because of our fans’ eagerness and excitement for West End Stadium – makes us even more proud. Community has been an organization pillar for our club since its founding, and this donation represents the intersection of that with our team, our fans and the Greater Cincinnati region.”

“We are excited FC Cincinnati agrees that United is the way for our community to recover and revitalize from COVID-19,” said Moira Weir, United Way’s President and CEO. “The organization and fanbase are extremely generous in their neighbors’ great time of need. We are committed to amplifying these donor dollars and tackling systemic issues of inequity in our community.”
