Star64 to re-air 2018 match against Indy Eleven on Saturday

Classic Indy Eleven

CINCINNATI – FC Cincinnati’s celebration of their first major trophy will be re-airing on Saturday, when the club’s 3-0 win against Indy Eleven from Sept. 29, 2018, will return to television airwaves. The game will be televised by Star64 on Saturday, May 2 at 4 p.m., and will also be re-simulcast on fccincinnati.com within the WSTR Star64 viewing area.

The Orange and Blue played their final regular-season home match of 2018 in front of a USL regular-season record crowd of 31,478. After securing the USL Regular-Season Championship with their 4-1 at the Richmond Kickers on Sept. 26, FC Cincinnati celebrated their first major trophy at Nippert Stadium with a presentation following the conclusion of the match.

FCC did their part to entertain the home fans prior to the festivities, as Fanendo Adi and Danni König recorded goals, while Evan Newton and the Orange and Blue backline secured a clean sheet in the club’s final regular-season home match as a USL franchise.

FC Cincinnati finished the 2018 USL campaign with a record of 23-3-8 (77 pts.), besting Western Conference side Orange County SC 20-8-6 (66 pts.) by three wins and 11 points.  The highlight of FC Cincinnati’s 2018 season was the record-setting 23-match unbeaten run (17-0-6) – still the longest unbeaten run in USL Championship history – to enter the postseason.

Once again, fans will be able to watch the match accompanied by “The Buffalo Wings & Rings Second Screen Experience” that will be streamed live simultaneously on the club’s Facebook page. The Voice of FCC, Tommy Gelehrter, will be joined special guests to recount experiences and memories of that match and the club’s capturing of the 2018 USL Regular-Season Championship.
