Timeline: Every FCC jersey

The Orange and Blue unveiled their 11th jersey in club history – the BOLD kit – on Wednesday night when MLS and adidas launched the full line of 2020 kits. The BOLD kits are now available for purchase at the FCC Downtown Shop and mlsstore.com

Similar to other FCC primary jerseys, the club kept its tradition of incorporating stripes into the jersey. This year, the torso is split between blue and navy, while there are orange EQT stripes on the right shoulder.

This is the first time that navy – the MLS team’s tertiary color – has be incorporated in a primary kit.

Here’s a timeline of all 11 FCC home, away and third kits the team have worn in club history:

The three-striped top was worn during some of the club’s most memorable moments, including the team’s first-ever game, the home opener at Nippert Stadium and in the 2017 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup wins against Columbus Crew SC and the Chicago Fire.

While this jersey wasn’t worn as often, it plays a huge part of FC Cincinnati’s history. The simplistic design with the orange horizontal stripe was worn against Crystal Palace FC in the 2016 mid-summer friendly and FCC’s first-ever postseason game in 2016 against the Charleston Battery. As pictured above, it was also worn against Miami FC in the 2017 U.S. Open Cup run when FCC became the first non-MLS team to advance to the semifinals since 2011.

2016 Third Kit

The rarest jersey from FCC’s USL days, the orange top was only worn once against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC and has an awesome backstory.

2017-18 Third Kit

The only black jersey in club history, the Orange and Blue wore this sporadically. Two games that might stick out are when Cincinnati beat Louisville City FC, 1-0, in the 2017 U.S. Open Cup run and in a 4-2 win over North Carolina FC in 2018, when Nazmi Albadawi scored twice against his old (and now current) club.

2018 Primary Jersey

FC Cincinnati hoisted the 2018 USL Supporters’ Shield in this uniform and had the 34-game, 77-point season wearing the blue and orange-striped tops. FCC also advanced in the postseason for the first time when they wore these against Nashville SC.

Cincinnati sealed the 2018 USL Supporters’ Shield against the Richmond Kickers in this top. They also wore this in a 5-1 win over Atlanta United II. That game set the club record for goals scored in a game.

Central to the league-wide Greener Goals initiative to reduce plastic in the ocean and raise awareness about environmental issues, Cincinnati wore the navy jersey once in 2019: against Real Salt Lake in April. This jersey changes every year with two versions (a light and a dark) used throughout the league on a single weekend.
