Four FCC players called up for international duty

Four FC Cincinnati players were called up to represent their respective national teams for matches during the upcoming FIFA window that starts on Monday, Oct. 7. Allan Cruz and Kendall Waston have been called in to Costa Rica, Alvas Powell has been called in to Jamaica and Derrick Etienne Jr. has been called in to Haiti. All three nations will compete in Concacaf Nations League matches.


Cruz has earned 15 caps and has scored two goals for Costa Rica. The midfielder most recently played 90 minutes for the Ticos in an international friendly against Uruguay on Sept. 7. With FC Cincinnati, Cruz has scored seven goals and has added one assist in 22 appearances this season.


Waston has earned 37 caps and has scored six goals for Costa Rica. FC Cincinnati’s captain played 90 minutes for Costa Rica in an international friendly against Uruguay on Sept. 7. With FC Cincinnati, Waston has made 24 appearances, all starts, and has scored one goal this season.


Powell has earned 45 caps and has scored two goals for Jamaica. The defender scored his first two international goals in a Concacaf Nations League match at Guyana on Sept. 10. With FC Cincinnati, Powell has made 13 appearances, including 10 starts, this season.


Etienne Jr. has earned 19 caps and has scored three goals for Haiti since making his international debut in 2016. The midfielder most recently played for Haiti in a pair of Concacaf Nations League matches against Curaçao on Sept. 8 and Sept. 11, respectively. With FC Cincinnati, Etienne has made five appearances, including two starts.


Costa Rica will play its first match on Thursday, Oct. 10, when it travels to play Haiti at the Thomas A Robinson Stadium in Nassau, Bahamas. The Ticos will be back in action three days later when they host Curaçao on Sunday, Oct. 13 at Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto in Alajuela, Costa Rica.


Jamaica will play a pair of matches against Aruba. The two sides will first play on Saturday, Oct. 12, at the National Stadium at Independence Park in Kingston, Jamaica. The Reggae Boyz will then be on the road for the next match on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at Ergilio Hato Stadium in Willemstad, Curaçao.


Haiti will host Costa Rica in its first match on Thursday, Oct. 10 at the Thomas A Robinson Stadium in Nassau, Bahamas. Five days later, Les Grenadiers will play a road contest against Bolivia on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at Estadio Ramón Aguilera Costas in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.


FC Cincinnati will play their final match of 2019 on MLS Decision Day when they travel to play D.C. United at Audi Field on Sunday, Oct. 6. First kick is set for 4 p.m. and the game will be televised live on WSTR 64, streamed on FloFC (in-region) and ESPN+ (out-of-region), carried on the radio on WDJO with an audio stream on TuneIn (WDJO) and fccincinnati.com.
