USWNT qualify for knockout stages

The U.S. Women’s National Team will advance to the knockout stage of the 2019 FIFA World Cup after beating Chile 3-0 on Sunday. Through two group stage matches, the USWNT have two wins, have scored 16 goals and haven’t conceded once.


The reigning World Cup champions play Sweden to close the group stage on Thursday, with kickoff set for 3 p.m. ET. Sweden also have six points through two matches.


Rose Lavelle update

Cincinnati native Rose Lavelle was an unused substitute for the Americans against Chile. Overall, there were seven changes to the starting lineup following the 13-0 win over Thailand last Tuesday.


During that match last week, Lavelle scored two goals during her 57-minute appearance.
