Loan Roundup – June 10

Gdula

Nazmi Albadawi and North Carolina FC beating the USL Championship’s best team on the road was the highlight for FC Cincinnati players on loan this past weekend. Here’s how other players fared:

USL Championship

Logan Gdula

Club: Hartford Athletic

Result: 2-1 win against Saint Louis FC

Hartford Athletic recorded their second USL Championship win Saturday night when they beat Saint Louis FC at home. Gdula started at center back once again and played the full match, finishing with 50 passes with an 82% passing accuracy.

Gdula also won five aerial duels, recorded two interceptions and made one clearance.

Ben Lundt

Position: Goalkeeper

Club: Louisville City FC

Result: 2-1 win against Loudoun County FC

In his 12th league appearance this season, Lundt produced three saves in Louisville City FC’s home win. City are now unbeaten in their last five league matches and play FC Cincinnati on Wednesday at Nippert Stadium in the fourth round of the 2019 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

Hassan Ndam

Position: Defender

Club: Charlotte Independence

Result: 1-1 draw at Hartford Athletic

Ndam started in the 0-0 draw at Swope Park Rangers and played the full match, helping Charlotte Independence to a clean sheet. The Cameroonian impressed defensively, too.

He won six duels, made three tackles, registered two interceptions and made two clearances. He also completed 40 passes with a 75% accuracy.

Nazmi Albadawi

Position: Midfielder

Club: North Carolina FC

Result: 3-1 win at the Tampa Bay Rowdies

Albadawi collected an assist in North Carolina FC’s biggest win this season Saturday night in a 3-1 win against the Tampa Bay Rowdies.

In the 19th minute, Albadawi found Andre Fortune open in the box and saw Fortune turn the pass into a clever back post shot to take the lead. With the win, Carolina snapped Tampa Bay’s unbeaten start to the 2019 season.

As for the Palestinian international, he completed 32 passes with an 82.4% accuracy in Tampa Bay’s half.

Canadian Premier League update:

Emery Welshman

Position: Forward

Club: Forge FC

Result: Did Not Play

Forge FC had the weekend off and return to play later this month. That doesn’t mean Welshman was off, though.

The forward is with the Guyana National Team ahead of the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup. The tournament is the first-ever major competition for the Golden Jaguars.

Guyana plays the U.S. Men’s National Team to open their Gold Cup campaign on June 18 in Minnesota. The U.S. lost 3-0 to Venezuela on Sunday afternoon at Nippert Stadium in their first visit to the Queen City.
