FC Cincinnati fell to CF Monterrey of Liga MX, 1-0, Thursday night at TQL Stadium in the first leg of the Concacaf Champions Cup Round of 16. The two sides will meet in Monterrey next Thursday night in leg two at Estadio BBVA.

The Orange and Blue fell to 3-1-1 across all competitions this season. Monterrey remains perfect in Champions Cup through three matches.

Brandon Vazquez put CF Monterrey ahead early in his first matchup against his former team, which would provide enough for the victory. The former FCC striker scored in the 24th minute to put Monterrey up 1-0, as the club carried that lead into halftime and through the end of the game.   

FC Cincinnati host D.C. United at TQL Stadium on Sunday, March 10. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. ET and the match will air on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV. The Orange and Blue will travel to the home of CF Monterrey on Thursday, March 14 for the second leg of the Round of 16 of the Concacaf Champions Cup. Kickoff next Thursday is set for 10:15 p.m. ET and the match will air on FS2 and through the Fox Sports App and on FoxSports.com (TV provider login required). It will also be available in Spanish on ViX.

MTY: Brandon Vazquez, GOAL – 24’ (0-1) – Monterrey attacked a congested box off the dribble from Maximiliano Meza. Meza connected with Vazquez inside the box as Vazquez spun the ball just across the goal-line.
