Toronto currently find themselves in a midseason funk, having lost five consecutive matches dating back to June 14th. Prior to their current run of form, the Young Reds had won three of four and lost just once from the beginning of May through the first week of June.
The Young Reds have plenty of scoring power in the attacking third where they are led by midfielder Jahmarie Nolan. A native of Kingston, Jamaica, Nolan is having a career season after signing with Toronto in March of 2025. Nolan became the youngest player in club history to sign an MLS NEXT Pro contract with Toronto and scored one goal in 19 appearances in 2025. In 2026, Nolan has already notched seven and will look to add to that total Friday night.
Alongside Nolan is first-year midfielder Fletcher Bank. Bank has enjoyed a strong start to his Toronto FC II career, having scored four goals through 12 league appearances. Bank leads the team with five assists and was named MLS NEXT Pro Player of the Matchweek back in March when he scored two goals and assisted three in a single match against New York City FC II.
On Tuesday, the City of Barrie, Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE), MLS NEXT Pro, and Barrie Stadium Group announced a landmark partnership that will bring professional soccer to downtown Barrie through the relocation of Toronto FC II of MLS NEXT Pro, beginning with the 2028-2029 season.
