FC Cincinnati 2 and Columbus Crew 2 are set to play their second match of a three game regular season series Sunday night at Scudamore Field at NKU Soccer Stadium. The Orange and Blue will look to win their third consecutive match at home after a 5-0 triumph over Toronto FC II last Sunday.Â

FC CINCINNATI 2 NOTES
WHAT A NIGHT – FC Cincinnati 2 picked up their second win of the season Sunday night in a dominant 5-0 win against Toronto FC II at NKU Soccer Stadium. The Orange and Blue scored all five goals in the second half and matched a club record for the largest margin of victory in an MLS NEXT Pro match. It is just the fourth time that FCC 2 have scored five goals in a single match.
FCC 2 were named MLS NEXT Pro’s Team of Matchweek 9 for their performance against the Young Reds.
THE FIRST… – A number of players registered career or season firsts against the Young Reds in the 5-0 win. FC Cincinnati Academy midfielder Camden Sphire picked up his first career MLS NEXT Pro start, playing 68 minutes and marking a career high in the category. U15 forward Ryan Schlotterbeck made his FCC 2 and MLSNP debut, playing 11 minutes in a second half substitute appearance.
Dilan Hurtado and Mathias Vazquez scored their first MLSNP goals while Michael Sullivan scored his first for FCC 2 against his former side. Jack Mize and Leo Orejarena also tallied their first assists for the Orange and Blue.
VAZQUEZ IMPACT – Vazquez was one of two players on the night to register multiple goal contributions for FCC 2 (Stefan Chirila, 2G) when the Honduran forward assisted on Sullivan’s 80th minute goal. Vazquez did his damage in limited minutes as well, scoring and assisting in just 22 minutes off the bench. Vazquez also took three shots, a single game high for the forward.
ANOTHER FIRST TEAM SIGNING – FCC 2 defender Ayoub Lajhar signed a first team contract with FC Cincinnati on Saturday afternoon. Lajhar joins Andrei Chirila as the second FCC 2 contracted player to sign a first team deal in 2026. Lajhar was selected by FC Cincinnati in MLS SuperDraft 2026 before signing with FCC 2 where he has made four appearances, all starts, this season.

Columbus sit third in the Eastern Conference entering Matchweek 10 behind strong results at ScottsMiracle-Gro Field this season. Crew 2 are unbeaten at home through five matches and have won three in a row playing in Columbus. On the road, however, Crew 2 have struggled, where they have won just once in four matches.
Zach Zengue is tied for a league lead in goals scored with six in eight appearances. The first team midfielder has scored in four straight matches for Crew 2, beginning the current streak on April 11 when he scored two goals against CT United FC in a 3-1 win. Zengue has started six straight matches for Crew 2.
Chase Adams remains a constant threat for Crew 2, as the forward has scored five goals this year. Adams found the back of the net in his last appearance against Inter Miami CF II after going three straight without a goal. The duo of Adams and Zengue are responsible for 11 of Crew 2’s 16 goals this season.
