Loan Roundup: Aug. 13

Albadawi

Nazmi Albadawi scoring a late game winner and Forrest Lasso wearing the captain’s armband for Nashville SC were the two big moments for FC Cincinnati players on loan in the USL Championship this past week.

Here’s a rundown of how the players performed:

Nazmi Albadawi

Position: Midfielder

Club: North Carolina FC

Result: 2-1 win at Memphis 901 FC

The Palestine international scored his first goal of the 2019 season this past weekend in a 2-1 win at Memphis 901 FC.

Albadawi scored in the 88th minute to seal the road win when he calmly placed a left-footed shot into the top corner.

He finished the game with 37 passes with an 86.5% passing accuracy.

Forrest Lasso

Position: Defender

Club: Nashville SC

Result: 4-0 win against Hartford Athletic, 0-0 draw against Bethlehem Steel FC

Lasso took the captain’s armband Wednesday night when his teammate, Michael Reed, sustained a leg injury in the eighth minute.

The center back went on to produce his first assist of the season when he found Daniel Ríos open in the attacking third and delivered a crisp pass from the backline. Ríos collected the ball and scored his 15th league goal.

Lasso ended the game with 81 passes on a 75.3% passing accuracy, in addition to two duels won.

In the next match, the 0-0 draw, Lasso started and wore the armband throughout

Since he arrived in Nashville, the team is unbeaten and has yet to concede a goal. Currently, they sit third in the USL Championship Eastern Conference standings.

Logan Gdula

Position: Defender
Club: Hartford Athletic

Result: 4-0 loss at Nashville SC, 5-1 loss against New York Red Bulls II

Gdula rejoined Hartford Athletic last week after spending time with the Orange and Blue first team. Once back with Hartford, a club he was with earlier this year, he was a second-half substitute in a 4-0 loss at Nashville SC.

The rookie entered the match in the 61st minute, when the Athletic already trailed 3-0. He finished the game with 16 passes with 93.8% passing accuracy and won two duels.

In his second game last week, Gdula started in a match that saw Hartford reduced to nine men. Receiving a yellow card after 20 minutes, he finished the match with 17 passes with a 64.7% accuracy and made three interceptions. It’s worth noting he played right back against New York Red Bulls II.

While he was drafted as a fullback, he generally played as a center back in his initial loan move with Hartford.

Ben Lundt

Position: Goalkeeper

Club: Louisville City FC

Result: 5-1 win against Atlanta United 2

Lundt didn’t play and was seen on the bench wearing a boot on his left foot. His last appearance for Louisville City FC was two months ago in June.

Hassan Ndam

Position: Defender

Club: Charlotte Independence

Result: 3-3 draw at Loudoun County FC

Ndam is still in Cincinnati training with FCC, but is considered on loan with the Charlotte Independence. Because he's on loan, he's not available to play for FC Cincinnati at this time.
