Lineup Notes: NYCFC

Gutman

In his first match coaching the Orange and Blue at Nippert Stadium, Head Coach Ron Jans is opting for consistency. Jans is keeping the same starting XI against New York City FC as he had in last week’s 2-2 draw at Columbus Crew SC.

Overall, the only change to the 18 was Kekuta Manneh returning to the bench in replacement of Tommy McCabe.

This is only the second time all season Cincinnati has kept the same XI as the previous match. That occasion was March 17 against the Portland Timbers, which FCC won 3-0, after trotting out the same lineup the weekend before in a 1-1 draw at Atlanta.

Here’s what the 18 looks like against NYCFC:

About the bench

Manneh missed last match with a slight knock, but is back and available to play against New York.

About the absences

Fatai Alashe (hamstring) and Greg Garza (calf) practiced all week and are healthy, but Jans opted to keep them out of the 18. Frankie Amaya (groin), Spencer Richey (back), Fanendo Adi (calf), Bertone (groin) and Jimmy McLaughlin (knee) are also out.
