Lineup Notes: Minnesota United FC

FC Cincinnati head coach Jaap Stam made four changes to his starting XI ahead of Saturday night’s match at Minnesota United FC.


Mathieu Deplagne, Greg Garza, Yuya Kubo, Przemysław Tytoń replace Andrew Gutman, Tom Pettersson, Spencer Richey and Brandon Vazquez in the starting lineup.


About the changes

Garza is back in the starting XI for the first time since Sept. 6 at Columbus Crew SC. As for Kubo, his last start was Sept. 19 in FCC’s 1-0 win at the New York Red Bulls.


Both Deplagne and Tytoń make their first starts for Cincinnati since Sept. 12 at New York City FC.


As for changes to the matchday squad, Kamohelo Mokotjo could make his FCC debut after joining first team training earlier this week. His last competitive appearance was in June for Brentford FC in the English Championship.


Additionally, Saad Abdul-Salaam is back in the matchday squad for the first time since Aug. 29 against Columbus Crew SC. If he plays, it’ll be his first appearance since July 22 against the Red Bulls in the MLS is Back Tournament.


About the absentees

Siem de Jong and Jimmy McLaughlin will miss the match with injuries, while Nick Hagglund is quarantining after testing positive for COVID-19. Pettersson will miss the match with mononucleosis.


New signing Álvaro Barreal will be added to the roster upon the receipt of their P1 Visas and completion of any mandatory quarantine period under local government and MLS health and safety protocol.
