Hagglund Closing in on 100 MLS Appearances

If center back Nick Hagglund plays Thursday night against New York City FC at Yankee Stadium, the match will mark his 100th MLS regular season appearance.

“It’s just a huge blessing to get to do this and get to play this wonderful game as my job,” Hagglund said. “I’m really proud to continue grinding to be professional every day.”

The Cincinnati native is in his sixth season in the league. Before joining FC Cincinnati this offseason, he spent five seasons at Toronto FC, where he won an MLS Cup in 2017.

So far this season, Hagglund has 11 appearances for the Orange and Blue, playing 990 minutes.

His start this past Saturday in FCC’s 3-1 loss at the Colorado Rapids was Hagglund’s first appearance since May 1 and first under Interim Head Coach Yoann Damet.

“Every time I get to step out on the field, I’m excited,” Hagglund said. “To be on the field with the guys this past week was great.”
