CINCINNATI – FC Cincinnati defender Greg Garza has been named to the United States Men’s National Team's roster for its annual January Camp, which will be held this year at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif., from Jan. 6 through Feb. 2.

The Men’s National Team is slated to play Panama at 8 p.m. on Jan. 27 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., on ESPN2. They will also face Costa Rica at 3:30 ET on on Feb. 2 at Avaya Stadium in San Jose, Calif., on FS1.

Garza becomes the first-ever FC Cincinnati player to be named to a United States Men’s National Team roster. He helps comprise the 27-man roster, selected by USMNT head coach Gregg Berhalter.

“In putting together this domestic-based roster, we started with a number of players who we think can be a core part of the group moving forward. We then looked at players that excelled this year in Major League Soccer, and finally chose players that can play a specific role in our game model,” Berhalter said. “We are very excited to start to implement our ideas about the style of play and the culture we want to develop in the National Team.”

Garza, 27, joins the national team’s January camp for the second time in the last three years. In addition, Garza is being called in to national team duty for the first time since 2017. He most recently appeared for the United States in an international friendly against Serbia at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, Calif., on Jan. 29, 2017.

The defender has earned 10 caps since making his international debut on Sept.  3, 2014. The Grapevine, Texas, native made his first competitive appearance with the national team during the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup in a group stage match against Haiti on July 11, 2015 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.
