FC Cincinnati and Dawn®, America’s #1 dish liquid, announced a new community partnership, called “Free Kicks for Free Meals”. This initiative will help tackle food insecurity in the tri-state region.

FC Cincinnati, through the Free Kicks for Free Meals initiative, will donate 100 free meals for each free kick, corner kick, and penalty kick won during all MLS regular season home matches. The initiative launched at the May 4th match.

Through FCC’s Saturday, May 21st match, FCC has earned 18 free kicks for a total of 1,800 meals donated. The initiative is expected to cover the cost of over 22,000 meals by the end of the campaign.

“Food insecurity is near to my heart, as I grew up in poverty and my family lived on Food Stamps,” said Dawn Brand Communications Manager Amy Sumontha. “During the pandemic, more people have experienced food insecurity, especially children – not to mention the huge racial disparity amongst those who are impacted. Our Dawn team is thrilled that we can begin making an impact and help feed those in need.”

“We are extremely proud to partner with Dawn® on this program to support Freestore Foodbank,” said Vince Cicero, Senior Vice President, Partnerships & Broadcasting for FC Cincinnati. “Food insecurity is a challenge all communities face and having partners like Dawn® assisting with these efforts here in Cincinnati is something FC Cincinnati is proud to be part of.”

“More than 90,000 children in the tristate area do not know where they will find their next meal,” said Trisha Rayner, Chief Development and External Affairs Officer for Freestore Foodbank. “The Free Kicks for Free Meals partnership with FC Cincinnati and Dawn will help put food on the tables of so many families as we head into summer. Thank you for helping build a hunger-free, healthy, + and thriving community right here at home.”
