FC Cincinnati partner with Grippo's to become the official potato chip of the Orange and Blue

FC Cincinnati and the locally-based Grippo Potato Chip Company have partnered to make Grippo’s Chips the official potato chip of FC Cincinnati, Co-CEO Jeff Berding announced today at a food tasting open to media at TQL Stadium.

“Grippo’s is a longstanding local brand,” said Vince Cicero, Senior Vice President of Partnerships and Broadcasting. “They align with our club’s mission to connect with the Cincinnati community, and we are excited to have their products in TQL Stadium.”

In addition to becoming the official potato chip of FC Cincinnati, Grippo’s potato chips will be sold throughout TQL Stadium on game day and at the Grippo’s Grab and Go Market.

FC Cincinnati is a Major League Soccer team playing at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio. Originally founded in 2015 by Carl H. Lindner III and current Co-CEO Jeff Berding, FCC began play in the United Soccer League (USL) in 2016. FCC entered MLS as the 24th team in 2019. The club’s wide and diverse ownership group is led by controlling owner Lindner III; as well as managing owners Meg Whitman and Dr. Griff Harsh; Scott Farmer; and George Joseph.

FC Cincinnati opened the club’s privately funded, 26,000-seat soccer-specific TQL Stadium in the West End neighborhood of Cincinnati in 2021, a venue which has won numerous global awards including the World Football Summit Best Venue 2022 in Madrid and the 2022 Prix Versailles World Title in the Sports Category in Paris, France.

The club earned its first MLS Cup Playoffs berth in 2022, advancing to the Eastern Conference semifinal as the no. 5 seed. The club won the 2018 USL Regular-Season Championship in record-setting fashion and earned postseason berths in all three of its USL seasons. In 2017, FC Cincinnati also advanced to the semifinals of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, a run that included victories over two MLS squads.

Grippo's was founded in 1919 by Angelo Grippo in a one room office in downtown Cincinnati. Angelo started making ice cream cones and then in 1923, created the famous loop pretzel. In 1959, Grippo moved to the current location on Colerain Avenue. Grippo’s is the only family owned and operated snack food company in Cincinnati. Currently, 3rd, 4th and 5th generations of the Grippo family are involved with the daily operations. Grippo’s distributes product in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. They have a mail order business that ships nationally.
