Midfielder heads west for the rest of the 2018 season
CINCINNATI – FC Cincinnati has completed a loan agreement that has sent midfielder Will Seymore to USL Western Conference club Reno 1868 FC for the remainder of the 2018 season.
Seymore, 26, originally signed with Cincinnati as a free agent from Whitecaps FC 2 on Nov. 21, 2017. This season, he made four appearances – including one start – in USL action for Cincinnati. He also started and played 210 total minutes in a pair of U.S. Open Cup victories this season: 120 minutes on May 16 against Detroit City FC in the second round and a full 90 minutes at Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC on May 23 in the third round.
“It has been an absolute pleasure having Will with us this season,” FC Cincinnati head coach Alan Koch said. “Unfortunately, as the season has unfolded and with our mid-season signings, playing time has become a challenge to find. I still believe that Will has the ability to make it to the next level and wish him well with his new club.”
The midfielder was originally drafted by FC Dallas in the third round of the 2015 MLS SuperDraft out of Oregon State, and he signed his first professional contract with Whitecaps FC 2 in 2015, where he made 59 appearances spanning three seasons.
FC Cincinnati (16-3-6, 54 pts.) currently sits atop the USL standings with the top point total in the entire league. The team returns to action on Saturday, Aug. 25, when it visits the Tampa Bay Rowdies for a 7:30 p.m. tilt at Al Lang Stadium. The game will be televised on WSTR 64 and streamed on ESPN+.
