CINCINNATI – FC Cincinnati have appointed Fouad Kawtari as Academy Scouting Director. Fouad’s role as Scouting Director will focus on identifying the best young talent around the country and bringing them into the FCC Academy.

“We are fortunate to have added Fouad to our program as Academy Scouting Director,” said Larry Sunderland, FC Cincinnati’s Director of Player Development. “He has a wealth of experience in talent identification and recruitment and is recognized as one of the best scouts in the MLS Academy system.”

Kawtari joins FC Cincinnati after spending nine years with the New York Red Bulls Academy, serving in various roles. During his tenure with Red Bulls, Kawtari scouted and recruited a number of current MLS and USL Championship players, including Daniel Edelman and Serge Ngoma who have made first-team appearances for Red Bulls in 2022.

“I am delighted to join the FC Cincinnati family,” said Kawtari on his appointment. “I strongly believe that Cincinnati is a young and emerging powerhouse in the making, and I want to be part of this exciting project.”

Born and raised in Paris, France, Kawtari played for French amateur side, Villemomble Sports, and helped the team achieve promotion to Championnat National, the third division of French professional soccer.

Following his playing career, Kawtari shifted focus to coaching and youth development, earning a USSF B License and several certifications from the US Soccer Federation and United Soccer Coaches.
