FC Cincinnati have acquired midfielder David Douděra [DOE-dyeh-rah] from SK Slavia Prague of the Czech First League via transfer, the club announced today. Douděra will join the Orange and Blue, pending receipt of his P-1 Visa, on a contract through the 2027-28 Major League Soccer season with an option for the 2028-29 season.
Douděra, 28, has made nearly 350 professional appearances in Europe over the past 10 seasons. He was named to the Czech National Team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and started in their match against Mexico.
“David is an experienced player who has competed at the highest levels of the game,” said Chris Albright, FC Cincinnati General Manager. “He's an excellent teammate who will bring quality, energy, and a winning mentality to our group. We look forward to welcoming David and his family to Cincinnati.”
Douděra has scored 24 goals in 153 career appearances for Slavia Prague since joining the Czech giants ahead of the 2022-23 season. Douděra and the Red and Whites won the Czech First League each of the past two seasons and qualified for the UEFA Champions League. He also won the 2022-23 Czech Cup with the club.
Douděra played in seven of Slavia Prague’s eight 2025-26 Champions League matches last season. In total, he has made 36 appearances in European cup competition, scoring three goals in Europa League competition.
Prior to joining Slavia Prague, Douděra scored 12 goals in 85 appearances across three seasons for FK Mladá Boleslav. He began his professional career with FK Dukla Prague, making his debut for their second team in March 2017.
The native of Brandýs nad Labem-Stará Boleslav, Czechia has earned 18 caps for his national team at the senior level, debuting in UEFA Euro qualifiers in 2023. He was named to the Czech National Team’s roster for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and he started and went the full 90 minutes in their group stage match against hosts Mexico in Mexico City.
Douděra and new teammate and countryman Pavel Bucha have shared the field six times at the national team level, twice for the Czechia U20s and three times for the U21s. Most recently, both started for the Czech National Team in their friendly on May 31 against Kosovo.
