CINCINNATI – FC Cincinnati has acquired midfielder Victor Ulloa from FC Dallas in exchange for $150,000 in General Allocation Money. Should Ulloa meet certain performance-based metrics, FC Cincinnati could send up to an additional $100,000 in General Allocation Money. In addition, FC Dallas will receive a percentage of any future transfer or loan fee should FC Cincinnati transfer Ulloa outside of MLS.

Ulloa, 26, will occupy a domestic roster spot on Cincinnati’s 2019 MLS roster and will retain his Homegrown Player designation. He joins FC Cincinnati after playing his first eight professional seasons with FC Dallas.

Last season, Ulloa made 27 appearances, with 25 starts, scored one goal and added two assists for FC Dallas. The Wylie, Texas native surpassed 2,000 minutes played for the third time in his career.

“Victor brings significant MLS experience to our group,” FC Cincinnati Head Coach Alan Koch said. “We believe he can help stabilize our midfield and is another important piece of the puzzle as we continue to solidify our roster ahead of next season.”

Over the past five seasons, Ulloa has made 143 MLS regular-season appearances, including 114 starts. During that timeframe, he scored five goals and added six assists. The midfielder made at least 25 MLS regular-season appearances in four of the previous five seasons, and appeared in nine of 10 postseason matches for Dallas dating back to 2014.

Ulloa’s professional career began in 2011, when he signed with FC Dallas as a Homegrown Player. After making just one appearance through his first three professional seasons, Ulloa emerged as a prominent player for Dallas in 2014, becoming the first-ever FC Dallas Homegrown Player to play over 2,000 minutes in a season. In 2017, Ulloa became just the eighth Homegrown Player in MLS history to reach 100 career MLS regular-season appearances.

The next time Cincinnati takes the field, it will be as MLS’ 24th team in 2019 when the club debuts in the top professional league in the U.S. and Canada. Season tickets for the 2019 season are now on sale at fccincinnati.com/tickets.
