FC Cincinnati are back on the road Saturday night to take on Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Kickoff on June 10 from BC Place is set for 10:30 p.m. ET and the match will stream exclusively on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app. Fans can also listen to the match locally on ESPN 1530.

Let’s break down this matchup by the numbers, presented by CTI.

On Wednesday night, Vancouver Whitecaps FC won their third Canadian Championship, thus becoming the first MLS side to qualify for the 2024 Concacaf Cup. The Whitecaps have won back-to-back Canadian Championships, this season knocking off CF Montréal in the final.

Ryan Gauld’s 66th minute penalty kick served as the game-winner in the 2-1 win for the Whitecaps.

4

In FC Cincinnati’s five-year history, the Orange and Blue have never traveled to face four clubs: Vancouver Whitecaps FC, LA Galaxy, Sporting Kansas City and the Portland Timbers.

That will change come Saturday night when FCC make their maiden voyage to BC Place. Opened in 1983, the multi-purpose stadium served as the main venue for the 2010 Winter Olympics and Paralympics, the location for the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup Final, and it will host 2026 FIFA World Cup matches.

6

FC Cincinnati have played a brutal stretch of eight games in 25 days. Despite that, the Orange and Blue have gone 7-0-1 across all competitions and have won six straight in MLS play.

The club’s six-game winning streak is the longest this season in Major League Soccer. The MLS record is 15, set by LA Galaxy from September 7, 1997 to May 17, 1998.

7

FC Cincinnati have never defeated seven opposing MLS teams (LAFC, Sporting Kansas City, Vancouver Whitecaps FC, Austin FC, FC Dallas, LA Galaxy, St. Louis CITY SC).

The club will have a change to notch that number down to six on Saturday. So far this season, the club has already erased Seattle Sounders FC, Nashville SC, the Colorado Rapids and New York City FC from the list.

11

Much unknown surrounds FC Cincinnati traveling to face the Whitecaps, as no player appeared in both of the previous matchups for the Orange and Blue against Vancouver in 2019 and 2022. In fact, only 11 players on FCC’s active roster have appeared for the club against the Whitecaps.

Alvas Powell leads all current FC Cincinnati players in career appearances against Vancouver. The longtime Portland Timbers defender has made 11 career appearances against the Whitecaps.

234

The Vancouver Whitecaps put up a crooked number against Houston Dynamo FC back on May 31, earning a 6-2 home win. The six goals scored were tied with Columbus (6-1 vs ATL; 3/25/23) for the most goals scored in a game this season.

The Whitecaps fired off 16 shots that game, which aided in their MLS-best 234 shots this season. That ranks one above the 233 shots for the New York Red Bulls.
