CINCINNATI – FC Cincinnati forward Brenner has been named to the MLS Team of the Week for Week 32, the league announced today. Additionally, goalkeeper Roman Celentano earned a spot on the Team of the Week’s bench.

Brenner earns a spot on the league’s weekly Best XI for the third time this season and for the fourth time in his career. The Brazilian forward’s brace against Real Salt Lake powered the Orange and Blue to a 2-1 road win to defeat the Western Conference foes for the first time in club history.

With his brace on Saturday, Brenner now accounts for five of the nine all-time multi-goal performances in FC Cincinnati history, four of which have come this season. Five of Brenner’s career-high 14 goals this season have come in the past two games for FCC.

Roman Celentano earned a bench spot among the league’s weekly best for his third career MLS Team of the Week honor. His seven saves, including a stop of RSL’s Pablo Ruiz’s penalty kick, matched a career-high and allowed FC Cincinnati to preserve a 2-1 road win.

Celentano has made 19 saves on 21 shots against in his past three games with FC Cincinnati. With his penalty kick save, the rookie goalkeeper became the first FCC goalie to save multiple kicks from the spot, both in a season and in a career, since Spencer Richey in 2019.

FC Cincinnati have earned 24 spots on the league’s weekly Team of the Week this season, which extends the most representations for the club in a single season (previous high: 2019, 16). The duo’s recognition is the 60th and 61st selection for the club on the MLS Team of the Week since FC Cincinnati joined the league in 2019.
