The FC Cincinnati Academy went unbeaten against Internationals in USSF Development Academy regular-season action at the Mercy Health Training Center on Saturday, March 7. The Under-17’s played to a scoreless draw while the Under-15’s won, 6-0. Ryder Mills logged a hat-trick for the Orange and Blue.Under-17’s

Although FC Cincinnati held possession and dictated the tempo of the game, the club was unable to score a goal. The closest opportunity came in the 19th minute. Arquimides Ordonez (Fort Thomas, Ky.) dribbled from the right flank and took a shot on goal as he approached the endline. The shot was parried away by the goalkeeper over the crossbar for a corner kick

Adal Salinas (Cincinnati, Ohio) put the Orange and Blue ahead in the fourth minute, when he pounced on a rebound. Seconds before the first half ended, Travis Smith (Prospect, Ky.) lofted a through ball to Ryder Mills (West Chester, Ohio). Mills dribbled past the Internationals’ goalkeeper and scored his first goal of the afternoon. In the 49th minute, Salinas dribbled towards goal from the half-field line and threaded a through ball to Mills, who slotted the ball inside the right post. Salinas and Mills connected once again in the 63rd minute. Mills got behind Salinas’s low cross and completed his hat-trick. Salinas was fouled right outside of the penalty box in the 71st minute. Bennet Gerak (Villa Hills, Ky.) curled a shot inside the far post for FCC’s fifth goal. Gavin Green (Florence, Ky.) scored the last goal of the match in the 78th minute, when he beat the backline of Internationals and poked the ball past the goalkeeper.
