FC Cincinnati 2/Matchup Notes
The matchup – Sunday’s match will be the first meeting and only meeting of the season between FCC 2 and Orlando City B. The two sides played just once last season, a 4-1 win for the Orange and Blue in the penultimate match of the year. FCC 2 will look to make it three wins in a row against the Lions on Sunday night.

Stef back on the scoresheet – First team forward Stefan Chirila found himself back on the scoresheet against Red Bull with his converted penalty in the 49th minute to cut the lead. It is Chirila’s fifth goal of the season, leading all FCC 2 players, and his first since May. Chirila has his sights set on a personal single season high for goals scored – he netted 9 times in 2025.

Another MLS NEXT Pro debut… – FC Cincinnati Academy defender LJ Born made his MLS NEXT Pro debut against Red Bull New York II last Sunday, helping the Orange and Blue hold off a late Red Bull charge to send the match to a shootout, which FCC 2 would win. Born becomes the 11th academy player to make their debut this season.

…And a first team debut – Defender Félix Samson made his first team debut on Friday night against Burnely FC in a 3-1 win. Samson played 30 minutes, coming on as part of the second half group of substitutes. Samson has started in all 11 matches for FC Cincinnati 2 in MLS NEXT Pro this season where he has scored one goal.

Orlando’s leading goalscorer is Brazilian forward Pedro Leão. Leão, in his first season with the club, has notched seven goals while starting 14 of 17 games played. Leão scored goals in three straight matches to open the campaign and had back-to-back two goal performances against Chattanooga FC and Huntsville City FC in May and June, respectively.

OCB is led by head coach Edward Wilding. Wilding was appointed in early April after serving as the club’s Methodology Lead for the academy, as well as the head coach of the academy’s U18 team. Prior to his time with Orlando, Wilding spent time with the Colorado Rapids Academy, the Barcelona Residency Program and the University of Central Florida.
