In the interest of public safety, privacy and security, please be advised that FCC prohibits any unauthorized media and/or individuals from operating unmanned aircraft systems (“UAS”), such as drones and model aircrafts, in, around and over the Stadium site currently under construction in the West End. The Stadium site is an active construction site on private property and the operation of a UAS over the Stadium site creates a significant safety, privacy and security risk to FC Cincinnati’s employees and staff, its construction partners working at the site, and members of the general public.
FC Cincinnati seeks to ensure that the any UAS utilized in connection with its new, state-of-the-art Major League Soccer stadium currently under construction in the West End is operated responsibly, in compliance with all applicable laws and Federal Aviation Administration (“FAA”) regulations, and in a manner that satisfies FC Cincinnati’s legal, public safety, and ethical responsibilities. In the event FC Cincinnati provides authorization to operate a UAS over the Stadium site, the operator must comply with all applicable laws and FAA regulations and must take all reasonable measures to avoid violations of areas normally considered private, including the residential areas surrounding the Stadium. A UAS may not be used to monitor or record areas where there is a reasonable expectation of privacy in accordance with accepted social norms. Any operation of a UAS by an individual in violation of this policy will be promptly reported to the FAA and local law enforcement and will be dealt with accordingly. FC Cincinnati reserves the right to enforce this policy to the fullest extent permitted by law. The operation of a UAS is regulated by the FAA and relevant state law.
Before operating a UAS, please consult the FAA’s website to understand your responsibilities. If you are interested in operating a UAS over the Stadium site, please contact Lizz Summers, VP of Communications for FCC at Summers@FCCincinnati.com.
