2016 – FCC play first match in club history

The Orange and Blue played their first-ever competitive match at MUSC Health Stadium, when they lost, 1-0, to the Charleston Battery.

After winning the 2016 IMG Academy Suncoast Pro Classic during preseason, FC Cincinnati’s first USL match began under unusual circumstances.

Just prior to kickoff, there was a lightning day that postponed kickoff 75 minutes. Once the match began, FCC played well before concealing a 94th-minute goal to Romario William and therefore the game.

Here’s the lineup former head coach John Harkes deployed for his first competitive match with Cincinnati: Mitch Hildebrandt, Pat McMahon, Austin Berry, Harrison Delbridge, Tyler Polak, Kenney Walker, Corben Bone, Ross Tomaselli, Andrew Wiedeman, Sean Okoli and Jimmy McLaughlin. The four subs used were Paul Nicholson, Antoine Hoppenot, Luke Spencer and Omar Mohamed. (USL allowed five possible substitutions in 2016.)
