Loan Roundup: Sept. 23

Albadawi

Nazmi Albadawi scoring his second goal this season and Forrest Lasso helping Nashville SC secure a spot in the USL Championship Playoffs were the key moments for FC Cincinnati players on loan this past week.

Here’s a look at how the duo and other Orange and Blue players performed in the USL Championship.

Nazmi Albadawi

Position: Midfield

Club: North Carolina FC

Results: 2-1 loss at Charleston Battery

The center midfielder scored in the 49th minute to level the match when he finished a cutback pass from D.J. Taylor.

Despite the loss, Albadawi delivered a solid performance with 68 passes with an 86.8% accuracy. He also won 11 duels, four tackles, made three clearances and two tackles. He scored on his only shot in the game.

Through 15 USL appearances this season, the Palestine international now has two goals and three assists for North Carolina FC.

Forrest Lasso

Position: Defender
Club: Nashville SC

Result: 1-0 win against Birmingham Legion, 0-0 draw against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC

Lasso only played in one of Nashville SC’s two games this week, but he wore the captain armband and helped seal a 1-0 win against Birmingham.

In the match, he produced 30 passes with an 80% passing accuracy. Defensively, the center back won seven duels – six of which were aerial duels. He also made 10 clearances.

Lasso didn’t play in Nashville’s match this weekend, which was a scoreless draw against Pittsburgh.

Logan Gdula

Position: Defender

Club: Hartford Athletic

Result: 4-1 loss at Ottawa Fury FC

Gdula had an 87.7% passing accuracy on 57 passes and won four duels and an interception in the loss.

The match was his 12th in the USL Championship, but more importantly, he surpassed 1,000 minutes in the league this season.

When FC Cincinnati sent players out on loan, the goal was for them to develop and earn minutes that can help bolster their future potential. After not playing the first few weeks of the season with Phoenix Rising FC, Gdula’s seen impressive development since he joined Hartford Athletic.

Ben Lundt

Position: Goalkeeper

Club: Louisville City FC

Result: 5-3 win against New York Red Bulls II

Lundt didn’t play in Louisville City FC’s big win and has been sidelined with an injury since early June. That injury was before FC Cincinnati beat Louisville in the 2019 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

Hassan Ndam

Position: Defender

Club: Charlotte Independence

Result: 3-0 loss against Swope Park Rangers

Ndam spent the past week training at the Mercy Health Training Center. He is still considered on loan with the Charlotte Independence.
