Lavelle starts in USWNT win

Cincinnati native Rose Lavelle started and played 63 minutes in the U.S. Women’s National Team’s 2-0 win against Sweden on Thursday to close group stage action at the 2019 FIFA World Cup.


The USWNT won all three group stage matches against Thailand, Chile and Sweden by a combined score of 18-0. As for Lavelle, she made two starts and scored two goals during those three games.


With the win, the Americans will play Spain in the Round of 16 on Monday at noon ET.
