Loan Roundup: USL Championship Week 5

McCabe Dally

Three of FC Cincinnati’s 2019 MLS SuperDraft picks featured for their current USL clubs this past weekend. Additionally, for the first time this season, two loaned FCC players faced each other.

Here’s a rundown of how they fared:

Rashawn Dally
Position: Forward
Club: Memphis 901 FC
Result: 1-1 draw at North Carolina FC

Dally started and played 90 minutes in Memphis’ third-consecutive road match. While he didn’t produce a shot, he did create a chance when he was fouled on the right wing in the 34th minute.

So far this season, Dally has played in all five USL Championship matches for the first-year team and has five starts. The 22-year-old has one goal and a 76.3% passing accuracy.

Tommy McCabe
Position: Midfielder
Club: North Carolina FC
Result: 1-1 draw against Memphis 901 FC

McCabe played the full match and finished with a 90.9% passing accuracy both overall and in the opponent’s half.

North Carolina FC is unbeaten this season and rallied to earn a point against Memphis after a 62nd-minute red card saw the side drop to 10 men.

In NCFC’s four games this season, McCabe has played every minute and has two goals. He also has a 90.3% passing accuracy, an 80% tackle success rate and has scored from his only only shots.

Ben Lundt
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Louisville City FC
Result: 1-0 loss against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC

Lundt produced two saves in the loss in which FC Cincinnati Goalkeeper Coach Jack Stern was in attendance.

After not playing the first match, Lundt has played the last four with Louisville and has a 66.7% saves rate. He also has one clean sheet, seven catches, four clearances and three punches.

Logan Gdula
Position: Defender
Club: Phoenix Rising FC
Result: 0-0 draw against Fresno FC

Gdula missed his fifth consecutive match with a quadriceps injury. Once he plays, it’ll mark his professional debut.

He was Cincinnati’s 13th pick in the SuperDraft and was sent on loan for minutes and match experience. As an outside fullback, he plays a position that has strength in its starters and also experienced, veteran depth. A loan move was a chance for experience.

Canadian Premier League update:
Emery Welshman
Position: Forward
Club: Forge FC
Result: The club’s first match is April 27 against York9 FC.
