Over 50,000 fans tuned in live this past Tuesday to watch the first eMLS FIFA 19 event of the season as eMLS League Series One kicked off at the eSports Arena in Los Angeles. This was FC Cincinnati’s first ever eSports event in franchise history and was a chance for the club to win its first trophy in MLS. FCC Fiddle was the man that represented the club and after coming over from PSG last season he was a favorite to win the competition.

The event began with each player playing regular season matches against each member of their conference. After the regular season finished the top four players from each conference advanced to the live-streamed knockout stage portion of the event. FCC Fiddle’s regular season matches came down to the wire

as he needed a win in his final game to go through to the knockout rounds. In his final game he was able to beat JK01707 from the New England Revolution to advance.

During the knockout stages hundreds of fans pilled into the arena and tens of thousands of fans tuned in from across the world to watch things play out. In the quarterfinals Fiddle matches up against the number 1 seed, NYC Chris from New York City FC who he’d lost to earlier in the regular season matchup. Fiddle grabbed 2 goals in that matchup courtesy of Kylian Mbappe and Cristiano Ronaldo and advanced to the semi-finals where he lost to doolsta from the Philadelphia Union. Doolsta would go onto win the competition.

The next eMLS event will take place in Dallas next month and the results from that completion combined with this competition will determine who will make it to eMLS Cup in March.
