FCC’s Ledesma, Adi Nominated for Monthly USL Awards

CINCINNATI – FC Cincinnati’s Emmanuel Ledesma and Fanendo Adi have been nominated for United Soccer League awards for the month of September. Ledesma has been nominated for USL Player of the Month and USL Goal of the Month, while Adi has also been tabbed for USL Goal of the Month.


Ledesma is one of five players nominated for USL Player of the Month for September for his standout performances. A 30-year-old native of Quilmes, Argentina, Ledesma scored three goals and added five assists for the Orange and Blue in the club’s fourth consecutive unbeaten month. In six league games last month, FC Cincinnati went 6-0-0 including wins over Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC, Louisville City FC, Toronto FC II, Penn FC, Richmond Kickers and Indy Eleven.


In 2018, Ledesma has earned a place on the USL Team of the Week seven times, while capturing the league’s Goal of the Week three times and Player of the Week once. On the season, Ledesma has scored 16 goals and added 15 assists.


Fan Vote for USL Player of the Month for September

Adi and Ledesma are two of 10 players up for USL Goal of the Month for September. Adi is nominated for Goal of the Month for the first time, being nominated for his Goal of the Week scored against Toronto FC II in Week 27. Ledesma is nominated for Goal of the Month for the third time and is trying to capture the award for the first time. The Argentine is nominated for his second goal scored against the Richmond Kickers in Week 29.


Fan Vote for USL Goal of the Month for September

In addition, Ledesma received the USL’s Goal of the Week for Week 29 for his second strike against the Richmond Kickers, the USL announced today. Ledesma claimed the award – his third Goal of the Week of 2018 – by garnering 59 percent of the fan vote conducted online at USLsoccer.com.


FC Cincinnati (23-3-6, 75 pts.) is back on the road this weekend for a match against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC (15-4-12, 57 pts.) on Saturday at 7 p.m. The game will be televised live on WSTR 64 and streamed live on ESPN+.
