CINCINNATI – After standout weeks in a pair of victories, two FC Cincinnati midfielders were named to USL’s Team of the Week for Week 8 on Tuesday.

Corben Bone and Emmanuel Ledesma both earned places on the 11-player listing released by the league this afternoon. The Team of the Week is voted on by a national panel of independent media who cover USL regularly. Bone finished second overall in voting this week, garnering 26 percent of votes cast.

In wins at Indy Eleven on Wednesday and against Atlanta United 2 on Saturday, Bone scored two goals and added an assist in the sweep. In the midweek game in Indianapolis, Bone’s second-half strike proved to the game-winning goal after he set up Jimmy McLaughlin’s game-tying tally just before the interval. On Saturday, he again tallied – his third of the season – to put FCC up by two goals in the 39th minute. This is Bone’s first USL Team of the Week nod of the season and the fourth of his career.

After earning Team of the Week honors for Week 7, Ledesma repeats on the team after a two-goal, one-assist performance in the Orange and Blue’s 4-2 win over Atlanta United FC Saturday at Nippert Stadium. Ledesma set up Danni König’s game-opening goal before tallying his first goal of the day two minutes later. He then opened the second half with an unassisted score less than a minute into the stanza. This is Ledesma’s second Team of the Week honor in as many weeks.

FC Cincinnati (5-1-2, 17 pts.) returns to the field on Saturday, May 12, when the team travels to Matthews, N.C., to face Charlotte Independence (2-3-2, 8 pts.) at 7:30 p.m. The game will be televised live on TV-Star 64 and streamed live on ESPN+.

FCC returns home next Wednesday night, May 16, at 7:30 p.m., when the club opens play in the 2018 U.S. Open Cup at University of Cincinnati’s Gettler Stadium against the winner of Wednesday’s Mid-Michigan Bucks/Detroit City FC first-round game. A limited number of general admission tickets remain for that game for $15 each, and they can be purchased at fccincinnati.com.
