CINCINNATI, OH --- FC Cincinnati enters U.S. Open Cup Tournament action on Wednesday, May 16 and will host either Detroit City FC (NPSL) or Michigan Bucks (PDL) in second-round action at Gettler Stadium with kickoff slated for 7:30 p.m.

Second-round pairings and host sites were announced today by U.S. Soccer with FCC part of the northeast region and one of 22 United Soccer League teams to participate in the annual tournament. First-round games are slated for May 8-9.

Tickets for the match will first be made available to 2018 FC Cincinnati Season Ticket Members in an exclusive priority window prior to any public sale, with a limit of four (4) tickets per account due to the smaller capacity of Gettler Stadium. All tickets will be general admission with a singular price point, with a designated number set aside for traveling supporters from Michigan.

Details regarding the ticket process such as availability dates, pricing, final capacity -- as well as other matchday amenities -- are still being finalized.

Last season, FCC made a spectacular run, advancing to the Open Cup semi-finals against New York Red Bulls. FCC defeated AFC Cleveland, USL foe Louisville City FC, and Columbus Crew by scores of 1-0. FCC then pushed Chicago Fire SC to extra time and prevailed on penalty kicks before they handed Miami FC a 1-0 loss to set up the semifinal fixture. FCC’s match against the Fire drew 32,287, the third-highest attended match in Cup history and then took on the Red Bulls in front of 33,250 for the highest-attended match for a non-final.

Home teams for each round are determined by a random selection process among those clubs that have applied to host and whose venues meet the minimum tournament requirements.
