CINCINNATI, OH --- Lance Laing (LANG), a three-time NASL Best XI honoree, has signed on with FC Cincinnati, announced the club today.

“Lance has exceptional pace and a fantastic left foot,” Head Coach Alan Koch said. “He can play either as a full-back or out wide as a winger. His versatility will give us options and he is a major threat on free-kicks. He not only has the ability to score goals but also has a creative element to his game. We look forward to welcoming him and his family to Ohio.”

Laing has played over 150 matches in the NASL and spent the 2017 season with North Carolina FC, where he notched eight goals and five assists in 24 games.

He made 19 appearances and scored a goal with Minnesota United FC in 2016 following a three-year stint with FC Edmonton, where he claimed an NASL Best XI honor in 2015. During his tenure with FC Edmonton, Laing accumulated 15 goals and 14 assists, including notching a goal and four assists in the Canadian Championship.

In 2015, Laing competed in Copa America against Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay. He was also a member of the Jamaican national team that finished as runner-up in the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 2015, falling 3-1 to Mexico.

He signed on with the Fort Lauderdale Strikers after an open tryout and made his debut in 2011 against Puerto Rico Islanders. That year, he helped the club advanced to the league final, claiming a Best XI honor along the way after a two-goal, six-assist performance.

Between 2004 and 2005, Laing played for the Jamaican U-17 national team, earning a spot on the senior national team in 2008. He saw action in an international friendly against El Salvador and in 2012 he returned to the Jamaican national team as they prepared to qualify for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
