CINCINNATI, OH --- FC Cincinnati midfielder Kenney Walker was named the team’s Most Valuable Player and headlines a list of five team awards that will be announced over the course of the week.

Walker, a key play-maker for FCC, started in 26 of 27 appearances. The team-leader with seven assists, Walker also logged a pair of goals. He was voted to the USL Team of the Week three times in 2017, including grabbing a Player of the Week nod after scoring a goal and two assists in the final home game, a 4-2 win, against New York Red Bulls II. He nearly replicated the feat, falling one assist shy in the team’s come-from-behind, 4-3 win at Toronto FC II that helped to solidify the six-seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Walker paced the team with 1,443 passes and was sixth on the team with 2,328 minutes played. The Wickcliff, OH native will return for his third season with FCC in 2018.

The club will also announce the Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Most Improved Player and the Cincinnatus Award, which is given to the player who demonstrates outstanding leadership, service to the greater good, civic virtue, lack of personal ambition and modesty – traits associated with the Roman leader.
