CINCINNATI, OH --- Kevin Schindler and Mitch Hildebrandt both factored in FC Cincinnati’s 1-0 win over Charlotte Independence and were voted to this week’s USL Team of the Week.

Schindler had the lone goal for FCC, scoring a minute after being called off the bench in the 74th minute. A corner kick initiated by Kenney Walker found Djiby, who headed the ball towards the goal and landed in front of Schindler, who promptly sent it into the back of the net.

Hildebrandt preserved the one-goal margin, denying Jorge Herrera’s penalty kick attempt in stoppage time. Enzo Martinez drew the foul in the box and gave way to Herrera, the second-leading scorer on the team. However, Hildebrandt dove to his right to punch the ball away and stop his third penalty attempt this year.

The honor is the first for Schindler and Hildebrandt this season.

FCC closes out the regular season with the first of two Canadian sides this Sun., Oct. 8 at Ottawa Fury FC with kickoff scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
