Match Poster #11: 7/16 VS Crystal Palace FC

Untitled-8_large

To say that the Commemorative Digital Match poster campaign this season has been a resounding success, well... that might just be an understatement.

We've seen nearly 200 submissions from artists across the Tri-State so far in 2016. They've come from FCC supporters across the spectrum, high school students to professional designers, young and old, the experienced and the hobbyists -- all of them trying to capture the amazing emotion surrounding the club's incredible first season.

All that considered, it shouldn't really come as a surprise that we've seen 23 entries for arguably the biggest fixture on the 2016 calendar: this Saturday's international friendly against English Premier League side Crystal Palace FC. And with the quality of submissions received -- some of which can be seen in the picture above -- it was incredibly hard to select a winner for such an important match. But a winner was selected, and that entry can be found below:

The winning selection for the official commemorative digital match poster for our international friendly against Crystal Palace -- depicting Palace's traditional Eagle pitted in battle with the winged lion from FCC's crest -- comes from Alex Spenny (@theAspenn_)! The Miami University of Ohio student is also an illustrator and aspiring animator, of which you can see of his works on his personal Tumblr

If you think you have what it takes to put together a match poster for one of FC Cincinnati's remaining home match this season, the club is still taking design proposals for future matches. Winning designs will not only be shared on all of the FCC’s social channels, but you’ll also win a pair of free tickets to the match for which you designed. Interested artists should visit our Match Poster page for further details and to see which matches are still available!
