Debuting a little closer to kickoff than normal, it's time to drop the first of two official commemorative digital match posters this week. And the first one up is for tonight's 7pm kickoff at Nippert Stadium against New York Red Bulls II.
Tonight's design comes to us from Jose Edwards (Twitter: @JOSEEDESIGNS; Instagram: @SOCALLEDARTIST), a local graphic designer and street artist. When explaining the inspiration for his design, Jose indicated the style -- often seen used by street and graffiti artists around the world -- was one he liked and wanted to adapt for a poster for FCC. "I feel that sports and the art of advertising go hand in hand," he explained, "so [I thought] doing a mash up of the two would look very interesting." You can see more of Jose's work on his website.
If you think you have what it takes to put together a match poster for an FC Cincinnati home match this season, the club is still taking design proposals for remaining matches. Winning designs will not only be shared on all of the FCC’s social channels, but you’ll also win a pair of free tickets to the match for which you designed. Interested artists should visit our Match Poster page for further details and to see which matches are still available!
