Inter Miami CF II enter the weekend still in search of their first win of the year. It has been a difficult opening half of the season for the Herons who have managed just five points and currently sit bottom of the Eastern Conference Standings. The Herons did grab a point, and their first shutout performance of the year, against Carolina Core FC last time out.

Despite the results, there have been positives for Miami to take from the current campaign. Forward Idoh Zeltzer-Zubida has scored seven goals, trailing current MLS NEXT Pro Golden Boot leader Zach Zengue by just three goals. Zelter-Zubida scored in four straight earlier this season but has gone scoreless in three straight matches.

Forward Mateo Saja has scored in two of Miami’s last three and is a welcome sight for the Herons. Saja scored 11 goals for Miami a season ago, which led the team, in 27 appearances. Preston Plambeck has scored and assisted twice for the Herons out of midfield and has started in all of his eight appearances this season. Earlier this year, Plambeck scored two goals and assisted once against Orlando City B in a 4-4 draw.
